Ayurveda's system of cleansing consists of Five Actions or Panca (pan-cha) Karma. Those actions include eating a light, monodiet of Kitcheree (a dahl soup of basmati rice and split mung), Svedana (sweating via sauna use and exercise), Purgation (with herbal laxatives), Vamana (therapeutic vomiting induced by drinking salt water
to rid the stomach of excess mucous), and Basti (herbal enema). To increase circulation, helping the body move toxins out of the tissues and
into the Gastro-Intestinal tract for release, a daily warm oil massage is given to the entire body.

This cleanse is held over a 5 day period and commences with a full Ayurvedic consultation with Kelle Ronnfeldt to deduce the client's constitution, or dosha. The client meets with Kelle for massages and saunas on an every-other-day basis, performing self-massage on the off days. A 10 minute phone consultation will be scheduled for any day that the client does not meet with Kelle in person. After the 5 days of cleansing, a final consultation including dietary suggestions, lifestyle
changes and herbal recommendations will be given.

Panca Karma is offered through moksha studio on an on-going basis but is
particularly recommended at the seasonal changes of Spring and Autumn. The regimens differ slightly from Spring to Fall; Spring emphasizes riding the body of excess phlemg and weight where Autumn is a time when the body most needs internal and external oiling.

Cost: $340 includes 2 Ayurvedic Consultations, 2 Ayurvedic massages (2 hours each) cleansing supplies (split mung, basmati rice, Ayurvedic herbs, ghee, sesame oil).Client is responsible for providing their own enema bag, dosha appropriate essential oil and culinary spices.

Retreat lodging is available for clients living outside the Methow Valley. Inquire for dates and prices as they change seasonally.
